Take Charge Of Your Aviation Career – Patience

This week has been a tough week. It seemed that everything is moving in slow motion. The pace of the work flow is slow, there is no overtime right now and the goals that I set for myself seem to have grinded to a halt. I became frustrated because my desire was to achieve more progress this month than I have. To add to it, more financial challenges have been presenting themselves at a time when I really don’t want, or need them to. The result: frustration.

A dear friend reminded me that I was capable and that life will throw obstacles in my way when I least expected it. It happens to all of us. The key is to not let it get to us and to surrender these frustrations to One who is capable to helping us through the difficult times. Once that is done, we should then practice patience.

There will always be good days and challenging days. Days of great victories and days of defeat. The key is to be patient and not stop your efforts. I forgot that I had help and that I did not have to go it alone. In short, prayer can be one of the most influential practices you can do for your career. This is not mentioned in my book but I thought it important enough to mention here today. Say a prayer for your career on a weekly, even daily basis and practice patience. You will not likely see instant results. However, the results that will eventually come will amaze you.
